CROWN OF RESISTANCE 12" X 12"
During the Nazi occupation of Norway in WW II, Norwegians wore red knitted caps as a silent but powerful act of civil resistance. A few months ago similar “red hats” started to appear on the streets of Minneapolis. This image pays tribute to that symbol by incorporating slogans we have used in protests from the very beginning of our country up to now to fight injustice and to protect our democratic processes and ideals. Whenever democracy has been threatened there have been willing people to stand up in resistance.
